Our Founder

With over 29 years experience in remodeling and home improvement, and specializing in Mold remediation since 1994, our founder (David Edwards) began accepting property preservation work in order to fill a need for existing clients in late 2007. Due to the excessive insurance and workers compensation costs involved with fulfilling work orders under the companies mold remediation insurance policies, Mr. Edwards was forced to create a separate company to continue to meet the property preservation/REO needs of clients, and still remain competitive within the industry. Midwest Property Pros was born.

Beginning with a service area around central Illinois, Midwest Property Pros expanded southward to include client coverage within southern Illinois. Additional expansion of coverage area has since grown to include portions of Indiana and Ohio.

 

Property Preservation Manager



Melanie Laughland has been a part of the team since 2005. As Property Preservation Manager, Melanie's primary responsibilities include the assignment of incoming work orders, monitoring staff and contractor activities to ensure on time completion of work orders, assisting staff with review of completed work orders and accompanying supporting photos, as well as reviewing submitted bids prior to uploading them to clients. All of this is in addition to acting as our office manager. Melanie and her office staff fulfill a vital role within our service commitment to our clients.

Regional Operations Director



As Regional Operations Director for the Ohio Region, Jeff Edwards brings a diverse perspective to our organization. With a background in Bar/Restaurant management, as well as many years of remodeling/home improvement experience as secondary line of work, Jeff was an exceptional choice to lead our Ohio operations. His attention to detail and his desire to be in the field, hands on  with our professional personnel, are strong traits that cause him to excel and remain highly efficient in leading this region. Jeff is as comfortable with the business operations end of his position as he is with the field work itself. As a people person with a great sense of humor and quick wit, he is very likable and still manages to maintain a high level of professionalism when dealing with clients, potential clients, staff, and contractors.
